I came across some wonderful encouragement from Titus 2 this morning and I’m feeling particularly challenged by it!
But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. Older women likewise are to be reverent in behaviour, not slanderers or slaves too much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
The Natural Cottage Mama was exhorting women to find a Titus 2 mentor which made me wonder if I had such a woman in my life. There are many wonderful, Godly women in my life that I am extremely grateful for and could be considered mentor’s in the ways of the Lord. But that isn’t going to stop me from praying for God to continue to provide Godly women to help guide me through these little years of motherhood and marriage that present such physical challenges and fatigue that it is all too easy to lose sight of what is truly important in life. I am eternally grateful for Jesus’ grace and sacrifice for little old me when I take the time to reflect on it, but all too often these days I’m caught up in the challenges of life… finding that the grass always seems greener on the other side of the fence. I find myself constantly excusing my lack of God centeredness on my circumstances, if only my circumstances were different… then I could get my house in order, my heart in order. NOT TRUE! That is a lie that I have been buying into far too often lately and I need to stop!
This is a truth I need to take the time to reflect on! It is a truth that I need other Godly women to help me implement in my life! Over the coming days and weeks my aim is to re-center my life on Christ. What about you – will you join me in solidifying this truth in your life?
